Cheney on gay marriage: [LIMITED] ‘Freedom for everyone’

(Washington) Former Vice President Dick Cheney said Monday he supports gays being able to marry but believes states, not the federal government, should make the decision.

Setting aside the fact that the federal government is always needed to ensure civil rights to a group of people that is oppressed and/or discriminated against (disabled, black civil rights movement, womens suffrage, etc.) - this means Cheney supports giving his daughter Mary limited rights as opposed to full equal rights.
