Lesbian Author Re-writes The Crucifixion -- Makes Jesus Gay
From the seat of the website Jesusinlove.org, lesbian author Kittredge Cherry is releasing a re-written version of Christ's life called Jesus in Love: At the Cross, focusing on the last days of Jesus' earthly existence with the addition of a gay love affair between Jesus and John. Her motives for writing this story, Cherry says, were because "Christ's story is for everyone, but GLBT people often feel left out because conservatives use Christian rhetoric to justify hate and discrimination," and that, in recreating the story she hopes "to make Christ more accessible"....
