Man murdered for sexual advances; male suspect had sex with him once before

The search for a missing man in Monroe County ended Wednesday with the discovery of his body and the arrest of another man on a charge of criminal homicide.

Around 1 p.m., police found the body of Michael Goucher, 21, in a wooded area off Snow Hill Road near Henryville. Court papers revealed that he had been stabbed several times.

Later, police arrested Shawn Freemore, 19, of Cresco. He now faces charges including criminal homicide, aggravated assault and robbery.

Goucher's body was found in Price Township, near where his car was discovered on Tuesday morning. Police said he was reported missing on Friday, February 6, but had last been seen on February 3.

In court papers, Freemore admits that he and Goucher met in late January and had a sexual encounter. Freemore says the two met again around 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 4 and got into Goucher's car. Freemore says he refused Goucher's advances, and when Goucher followed him out of the car, Freemore stabbed him in the neck and in the stomach.

Freemore then admits forcing Goucher into a wooded area where he stabbed him several more times and covered his body with snow. Freemore says he left the knife near the body and took Goucher's car keys. Police say that Goucher's wallet and cell phone are still missing....
