McCain has made his choice, and it is one of the most completely desperate, impulsive, fly-by-the-seat-of-the-pants political moves I've ever seen!
Gov. Palin may be a decent Alaska governor, but she has no substantive experience to speak of, and apparently hadn't even met McCain until very recently. She is reputed to be completely radical and intransigent on issues like religion, abortion, and guns, and I don't see how her selection improves anything for McCain and the Republicans.
The desperation that emanates from the Republican side of the house is palpable, and enjoyable. This pick reminds me of Bush Sr's pick of Dan Quayle back in 1988. Quayle turned out to be one of the worst Vice-Presidents in American history, and it looks like Mrs. Palin might be destined to sufer the same fate should McCain win the election by some miraculous reason...
